It all started with a cheese board

MICASA, which in Spanish translates into 'my home', was founded on the belief that every home we live in should feel truly ours.

However, as with most small businesses, it's been a long road to get to where we are.

Inspired to share her passion for preloved and vintage decor with the world, Diana, MICASA's founder, set out to source quality decor and homeware that she'd be proud to have in her own home. Her very first find, a marble cheese board, soon turned into a set of crystal champagne flutes, followed by a matching set of hand-spun mohair scatter cushions.

Today, MICASA is an ever-growing and changing collection of treasures curated to enrich your space with warmth and character.

Why we choose vintage & pre-loved

When it comes to vintage and antique, well, they just don't make 'em like that anymore. These are items that have stood the test of time thanks to their excellent craftsmanship, high-end materials, and/or timeless design.

Many of these treasures are also often handmade, making them one-of-a-kind, or come from faraway places, giving them a background that adds to their value.

Furthermore, there's something special about an article whose age makes them a part of history or whose imperfections tell a story.

Meanwhile, pre-loved decor and homeware offer us a choice to break the cycle of consumerism by giving these objects a new lease on life. However, while vintage and antiques often come with some signs of age-related wear, only pre-owned items in the best of conditions make it into our collection.

Meet Diana

Hi! I'm Diana, founder of MICASA. I'm originally and proudly from Mexico but have lived in South Africa for the past eight years, where I share a home with my husband and our furbabies, two dogs and three kitties.

On an average weekend, you'll spot me browsing at a thrift store or vintage shop with a coffee in hand. Meanwhile, you'll always find an interior design magazine on my nightstand.

I, therefore, decided to combine my love for thrifting and vintage shopping and my keen interest in decor into my passion project: MICASA.

I know it takes a lot of work to turn a house into a home but I hope MICASA makes that journey a more inspired one.

Thanks for stopping by and, as always, mi casa es su casa :)
